The Scottish government is not seeking a recommendation from the NHS Pay Review Body (PRB) for a pay award in 2022-23 and have agreed to hold direct negotiations with the RCN and other health trade unions.

The Scottish government’s response will indicate what it believes members outside the NHS deserve to be paid. We are clear that there must be parity of pay and other terms and conditions for all nursing staff, regardless of employer.
Once negotiations develop a pay offer or, if no offer is reached and separately the Scottish government makes an offer, eligible members will be asked if it is acceptable.
