Below you can find answers to questions you may have around Congress 2021.
Congress 2021 now consists of two areas:
1. The Integrated Education Programme, which brings together fringes, sponsored sessions, student and nursing support worker events, and health and wellbeing activities such as yoga and mindfulness, all via Hopin.
2. The keynote speech and memorial lectures.
Events are taking place from Saturday 18 to Monday 20 September. They will happen online via the conference platform Hopin.
Congress is free to attend, and members can register by calling 02920 546460.
You don’t need special software to attend Congress, though a free Hopin app is available on iOS and android.
You’ll be sent a link to create an account on Hopin a week before Congress. We advise that you check that you can access this link on the device you will be using on the day.
We recommend using a desktop or laptop computer to access Congress. No special software is needed and a video has been prepared to show you what to expect on the platform. Hopin works best on either Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
It is possible to access virtual Congress on a mobile phone or tablet, either through a web browser or the Hopin app.
Please be aware that not all functionality is available on the app. You should not use it if you are a speaker.
The Integrated Education Programme (IEP) is a dynamic line-up that brings together fringes, sponsored sessions, student and nursing support worker events, plus health and wellbeing activities such as yoga and mindfulness, all via Hopin. This new programme is being overseen by a member-led group with representatives from across the UK.
The themes for the IEP are:
- Clinical and practice development
- COVID-related topics
- Leadership, management, learning and development
- Mental health, wellbeing and self-care
- Organising for Change
Via the full programme, you can search for sessions by theme to tailor Congress to your own interests. Remember, each event also supports CPD and can be used to contribute to your revalidation.
The business agenda – the debates – will no longer take place, after members raised concerns about the ability to effectively hold debates online and their ability to participate throughout the entire programme.
All sessions will able to watch again on the RCN website from Thursday 23 September.
If you have registered for Congress but can no longer attend, please cancel your booking here.
Over 50% of delegates are attending for the first time and of course this year’s online Congress will be new to everyone, including seasoned Congress attendees. Use the full features available Hopin to make the most of your time at Congress.
The Congress Exhibition will no longer be taking place.
The majority of Congress travel and accommodation will have been arranged by the RCN. However, if you have incurred expenses relating to Congress please email email@example.com or the person in your country/regional office or the Nursing Department who booked your travel.
