Marie Curie announced its updated pay offer at the end of October and RCN members were given the opportunity to have their say about the offer in a consultative ballot that was open from 25 November to 14 December. 28% of the eligible membership took part in the ballot and 60% of those members voted to reject the revised offer.
The ballot asked members to indicate whether their contract mirrored NHS Agenda for Change in relation to pay so that we could separate member responses on this basis. 53% of members on Agenda for Change contracts voted to reject and 67% of members not on Agenda for Change contracts voted to reject.
The RCN has informed Marie Curie of the ballot outcome.
The RCN Trade Union Committee, in consultation with the RCN Marie Curie Oversight and Governance Group, will consider next steps in early 2022.
